Finals Game 1: Catz - PeKa 79-69

Catz held off PeKa and gained 1-0 lead in the SM-sarja Finals. The game was mostly controlled by Catz Lappeenranta. Peli-Karhut managed to win fourth quarter 29-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Peli-Karhut outrebounded Catz Lappeenranta 48-34 including a 20-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. American swingman Alexandria Anderson (186-86, college: Chattanooga, agency: Regeneracom Sports) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winners and her fellow American import guard Jordan Murphree (183-87, college: Texas Tech, agency: Merit Management Group) chipped in 16 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Five Catz Lappeenranta players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international center Taru Tuukkanen (192-77, college: Xavier, agency: Regeneracom Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 17 rebounds and 4 blocks and American guard Andrea Barbour (178-89, college: VCU, agency: Regeneracom Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals.
