Second Stage Round 4: ABA Strumica - MZT Skopje 72-96

Prva Liga top team - MZT Skopje (4-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked ABA Strumica (0-4) 96-72. The game was mostly controlled by MZT Skopje. ABA Strumica was better in fourth quarter 21-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for MZT Skopje especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. ABA Strumica was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a quality performance of Serbian point guard Aleksandar Cvetkovic (183-93) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 8 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and the former international Gjorgi Cekovski (203-79) who added 20 points during the contest. Four MZT Skopje players scored in double figures. At the losing side Serbian center Nemanja Arsic (214-85) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Ashanti Cook (188-84, college: Georgetown) scored 15 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. MZT Skopje have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 4-0 record. ABA Strumica at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. MZT Skopje's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Skopje Lirija.
