Ironi K-A snatched a narrow road victory over Hapoel Kazrin in the opening game of the quarterfinal round. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 27-20 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Guard Bar Nativ (-95) stepped up and scored 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and naturalized Canadian point guard Simon Farine (188-87) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side American forward Erik Etherly (201, college: Loyola, MD) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import forward David Loubeau (203-89, college: Texas A&M) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds.
