Semi-Finals Game 5: Grindavik - Njardvik 120-95

Grindavik fired past Njardvik to secure the Dominos League Finals appearance. The game was mostly controlled by Grindavik. Njardvik managed to win fourth quarter 28-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Grindavik dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Njardvik's 34 and made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Njardvik 39-24 including 25 on the defensive glass. Grindavik looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Grindavik made 8 blocks. American-Dominican guard Lewis Clinch (191-87, college: Georgia Tech, agency: KMG Sports Management) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 10 assists. The former international forward Omar Saevarsson (198-82) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. International point guard Elvar Fridriksson (180-94) answered with 26 points and 7 assists and American forward Tracy Smith (203-89, college: N.Carolina St.) added 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Njardvik. Five Grindavik and four Njardvik players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
