Second Stage Round 8: Energa Czarni - Anwil 68-55

There was a minor upset when 4th ranked Anwil (16-14) lost to sixth ranked Energa Czarni (14-16) in Slupsk 55-68 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Energa Czarni. Anwil was better in third quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Energa Czarni dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Anwil's 16. Energa Czarni forced 20 Anwil turnovers. American guard Jordan Hulls (180-90, college: Indiana) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 5 rebounds. The other American import Roderick Trice (190-84, college: S.Carolina) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Jordan Callahan (184-90, college: Tulane) replied with 14 points and 7 assists and swingman Michal Sokolowski (196-92) added 22 points in the effort for Anwil. Energa Czarni maintains sixth position in Places 1-6 with 14-16 record. Anwil at the other side keeps the fourth place with 14 games lost. Energa Czarni will face league's second-placed Stelmet ZG in Zielona Gora in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Anwil will play at home against the league's leader PGE Turow and hope to win that game.
