Castello narrowly lost to visiting Avila in the opener. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Forward Fernando Fernandez (198-89, college: Hannibal-LG, agency: Dynamics Global Management) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and American forward Mike Duty (198-87, college: W.Washington) chipped in 13 points. At the losing side power forward Alberto Ausina (203-81) responded with 16 points and 9 rebounds and Nigerian-American power forward Olasumbo Atoyebi (203-87, college: Elon) scored 6 points and 12 rebounds.
