Finals Game 1: KR - Grindavik 93-84

KR defeated Gridavik in the championship series opener tonight. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-18. But Grindavik won second period 26-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Grindavik 47-33 including 34 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Demond Watt (200-89, college: Texas A&M-CC) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 18 rebounds. The former international guard Pavel Ermolinskij (202-87) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners. American-Dominican guard Lewis Clinch (191-87, college: Georgia Tech, agency: KMG Sports Management) answered with 22 points and 6 assists and guard Jon Axel Gudmundsson (192-96) added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Grindavik. Five KR and four Grindavik players scored in double figures.
