Regular Season Round 31: Neptunas - Nevezis 78-76

Tenth-ranked Nevezis (10-21) gave a tough game to sixth ranked Neptunas (14-4) in Klaipeda. Neptunas managed to secure only two-point victory 78-76. However their fans expected much easier game. Nevezis was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 21-11 third quarter run of Neptunas. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Nevezis' 34. They outrebounded Nevezis 41-24 including 27 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of center Vytautas Sarakauskas (205-82) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Marius Runkauskas (189-86) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Neptunas' coach Kazys Maksvytis used entire bench in such tough game. Tauras Jogela (203-93) answered with 23 points and 6 rebounds and guard Gintaras Leonavicius (194-83, agency: Players Group) added 23 points in the effort for Nevezis. Neptunas moved-up to fifth place. Nevezis at the other side keeps the tenth position with 21 games lost. Neptunas' next round opponent will be league's leader Tonybet in Prienai and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nevezis will play at home against the league's second-placed P.Zvaigzdes (#2) and hope to win that game.
