Den Bosch cruised past Leeuwarden in the opener. The game without a history. Den Bosch led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Leeuwarden's 36. They outrebounded Leeuwarden 42-26 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Den Bosch players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American forward Tai Wesley (200-86, college: Utah St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners and American-Iranian point guard Ali Farokhmanesh (183-88, college: N.Iowa) chipped in 22 points and 4 assists. Five Den Bosch players scored in double figures. Den Bosch's coach Samuel Jones felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American point guard Darius Theus (190-90, college: VCU) responded with 8 points and 6 assists and the other American import forward Nathan Healy (201-90, college: Appalachian St.) scored 13 points.
