Regular Season Round 15: Nogales - Navolato 93-89

An interesting game was also surprising road defeat of 5th ranked Garra Canera de Navolato in a game versus Fuerza Guinda Nogales (#8) 93-89. The hosts trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 38-25 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Fuerza Guinda Nogales shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Reeves Nelson (203-91, college: UCLA) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Cheyne Gadson (192-80, college: Oklahoma St.) accounted for 22 points for the winning side. American forward Ronald Selleaze (197-76, college: CSU Bakersfield) came up with a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and forward Froylan Verdugo (196-79) added 18 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Garra Canera de Navolato in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Fuerza Guinda Nogales (4-11) moved-up to seventh place. Garra Canera de Navolato lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifth position with seven games lost. Fuerza Guinda Nogales will again meet at home higher ranked Garra Canera de Navolato (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Garra Canera de Navolato will have a break next round.
