Maccabi Ashdod overcame Elitzur Ramla in overtime thriller to win D1 title. So Maccabi Ashdod retained the trophy they lost won in 2012. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Elitzur Ramla won third quarter 16-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Elitzur Ramla used huge pressure winning it 20-18 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 15-17. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Tiffany Jackson (191-85, college: Texas) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 19 rebounds and guard Candice Wiggins (180-87, college: Stanford) who added 22 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side guard Allison Hightower (178-88, college: LSU, agency: Josep and Nicolas) responded with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and swingman Tamara James (178-84, college: Miami, FL) scored 23 points and 8 rebounds (made all of her seven free throws). Four Elitzur Ramla players scored in double figures.
