Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Waikato P. (3-2) rolled over bottom-ranked Super City R. (1-6) in Hamilton 95-59 on Saturday. Waikato P. dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Super City R.'s 32. They outrebounded Super City R. 39-21 including 24 on the defensive glass. Waikato P. looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Quite impressive performance for the former international forward Casey Frank (203-77, college: N.Arizona) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). American swingman Akeem Wright (200-84, college: Kansas St.) contributed with 24 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Wright is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Waikato P. players scored in double figures. Australian guard Jason Cadee (186-91) replied with 20 points and the former international forward Duane Bailey (199-91) added 7 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Super City R.The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Waikato P. moved-up to fifth place. Super City R. lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with six games lost. Waikato P. will face higher ranked IMS Hawks (#3) in Tamatea in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
