Regular Season Round 33: Ratiopharm - Art.Dragons 75-73

The most exciting game of round 33 in the BBL took place in Ulm. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Artland Dragons (19-14) to seventh ranked ratiopharm Ulm (19-14) 75-73 in the game for the sixth place. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. ratiopharm Ulm dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Artland Dragons' 28. It was a good game for American forward Will Clyburn (201-90, college: Iowa St.) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 9 rebounds. His fellow American import Matt Howard (203-89, college: Butler) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four ratiopharm Ulm players scored in double figures. The former international guard Chad Toppert (199-85, college: N.Mexico) answered with 17 points and 5 rebounds (perfect behind the arc making all five shots) and American guard Antonio Graves (191-85, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Two Points) added 18 points in the effort for Artland Dragons. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. ratiopharm Ulm moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Art.Dragons. Artland Dragons lost third consecutive game. ratiopharm Ulm is looking forward to face TBB Trier (#12) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Artland Dragons will play against Mitteldeutscher BC (#9) and are hoping to win this game.
