Quarter-Finals Round 2: Brasilia - S.Jose/Unimed 82-95

Sao Jose/Unimed handed the second straight road defeat to Brasilia to make a huge step towards the semifinal stage. It looked good early as Brasilia took an 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Sao Jose/Vinac took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 13 points. They made 30-of-36 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Sao Jose/Vinac forced 23 Brasilia turnovers and outrebounded them 50-28 including a 40-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Brasilia was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American-Dominican point guard Emmanuel Quezada (188-85, college: USF) orchestrated the victory by scoring 50 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international Jefferson Andrade (207-83) contributed with 8 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. International guard Alex Ribeiro (191-80, agency: Interperformances) replied with 31 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international point guard Welington Dos Santos (185-81) added 8 points and 8 assists in the effort for Brasilia.
