Quarter-Finals Round 3: Castello - Avila 83-68

Castello outgunned Avila to pave their way into the next round. The game was mostly controlled by Castello. Fontedoso Carrefour managed to win second period 23-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Castello made 17-of-17 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. They also forced 21 Fontedoso Carrefour turnovers. Castello looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Fontedoso Carrefour's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Castello made 9 blocks. It was a great evening for swingman Roger Archiles (192-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points. Power forward Alberto Ausina (203-81) helped adding 11 points and 6 rebounds. Four Castello players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Mike Duty (198-87, college: W.Washington) with 14 points and 8 rebounds and forward Fernando Fernandez (198-89, college: Hannibal-LG, agency: Dynamics Global Management) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
