Second Stage Round 7: Cibona - Zadar 82-66

There was a change at the A1 leadership position after last games. Round 7 most important game was a defeat of league's leader KK Zadar (6-1). They were defeated by third ranked Cibona (6-1) 82-66 on Wednesday night. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of KK Zadar. It was a key game for the top position in Places 1-8. The game without a history. Cibona led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to KK Zadar's 34. Cibona looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by KK Zadar's players. It was a great evening for international forward Dario Saric (204-94, agency: Beo Basket) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Ivan Siriscevic (198-87) helped adding 15 points. Four Cibona players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Mark Lyons (185-89, college: Arizona) responded with 14 points and center Ive Ivanov (200-85) scored 13 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cibona have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion keeps a position of Places 1-8 leader, which they share with Zadar and Cedevita. KK Zadar will play next round against strong Cedevita trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Cibona will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Alkar Sinj on the road.
