Quarter-Finals Round 1: Trefl Sopot - Energa Czarni 77-71

Trefl Sopot edged Energa Czarni to take 1-0 lead in the TBL quarterfinals. It looked good early as Energa Czarni took an 5-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Trefl Sopot had a 21-9 second period charge getting the lead and Energa Czarni was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 71-77. Trefl Sopot made 31-of-34 charity shots (91.2 percent) during the game. Energa Czarni was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international Pawel Leonczyk (202-86) stepped up and scored 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and Lithuanian point guard Sarunas Vasiliauskas (187-89, agency: Alti Sport) chipped in 13 points and 4 assists. Five Trefl Sopot players scored in double figures. Trefl Sopot's coach Darius Maskoliunas allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American center Garrett Stutz (212-90, college: Wichita St.) responded with 29 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his fourteen free throws !!!) and the other American import Roderick Trice (190-84, college: S.Carolina) scored 7 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.
