1/8 Finals Round 1: Shinshu BW - Niigata Albirex 79-80

Niigata Albirex snatched a tough road win over Shinshu in the opener. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 21-12. But Shinshu BW won second period 22-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of center Patrick Sullivan (206-88, college: SE Louisiana, agency: Two Points) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds. Forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) contributed with 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds and forward Patrick Sanders (198-85, college: Cal-Irvine) added 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Shinshu BW. Shinshu BW's coach Ryuji Kawai rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
