Matera silenced Treviglio on the road in the first game of the series. It looked good early as Treviglio took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Matera had a 14-8 second period charge getting the lead and Treviglio was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 65-70. Matera shot 61.8 percent from the field and made 77-of-80 charity shots (96.3 percent) during the game. Matera outrebounded Treviglio 124-106 including a 78-67 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three nailing 39 long-distance shots on high 72.2 percentage. Matera players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 16 blocks. Treviglio was plagued by 80 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Anthony Jones (191-84, college: Indiana Tech) nailed 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Kyle Austin (203-88, college: Cal-Riverside) accounted for 12 points and 12 rebounds. Four Matera players scored in double figures. Czech Tomas Kyzlink (195-93) came up with 22 points and guard Filippo Alessandri (190-89) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Treviglio in the defeat.
