Aishin SH defeated Mitsubishi DD in the playoffs opener. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Mitsubishi Dolphins won third quarter 20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Aishin Sea Horses forced 81 Mitsubishi Dolphins turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 51.4 percentage. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Aishin Sea Horses made 20 blocks. 93 personal fouls committed by Mitsubishi Dolphins helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities.
