Aishin SH held off Mitsubishi DD to advance into Western conference Finals. Mitsubishi Dolphins were tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Aishin Sea Horses shot 34 for 52 from the free-throw line, while Mitsubishi Dolphins only scored fourteen points from the stripe. Aishin Sea Horses forced 97 Mitsubishi Dolphins turnovers and outrebounded them 60-36 including a 30-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. Aishin Sea Horses shot the lights out from three nailing 30 long-distance shots on high 61.2 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 17 blocks. Mitsubishi Dolphins were plagued by 95 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international center J.R. Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) notched 23 points and 5 assists to lead the effort and the former international point guard Shinsuke Kashiwagi (183-81) supported him with 20 points and 5 assists. Five Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. Even 19 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists by Senegalese-French forward Amath M'Baye (206-89, college: Oklahoma) did not help to save the game for Mitsubishi Dolphins. The former international forward Shogo Asayama (192-81) added 22 points for the guests.
