Fukuoka Rizing held off Hamamatsu but lost eventually in a tie-breaker mini-game and failed to qualify for the quarterfinal stage. Hamamatsu Phoenix was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. American players dominated the game. Forward David Palmer (201-82, college: S.Utah) scored 16 points to lead the charge for the winners and forward Reginald Warren (204-81, college: W.Florida) chipped in 7 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Fukuoka Rizing's coach Jamie Duncan allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Power forward Cyrus Tate (203-85, college: Iowa) responded with 24 points and 8 rebounds and forward Ray Nixon (203-84, college: Wisconsin) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds.
