Date: May 5, 2014
Mahram outgunned Petrochimi to narrow the deficit in Superleague championship series. Petrochimi trailed by 16 points after 3 quarters before a 27-18 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 78-85 at the end of the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Mahram made 7 blocks. 32 personal fouls committed by Petrochimi helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for international center Hamed Haddadi (218-85) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 21 rebounds and 7 blocks. International forward Mohammad Samad Nikkhah Bahrami (199-83) contributed with 23 points for the winners. American point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-87, college: N.Mexico St., agency: Three Eye Sports) answered with 29 points and international Hamed Afagh (193-83) added 19 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Petrochimi. Petrochimi's coach Mehran Hatami rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help.
