Finals Game 3: Wasserburg - Oberhausen 83-55

Wasserburg fired past Oberhausen in the third game of the Finals. Thefore the hosts swept the series and celebrated the DBBL championship title. The game without a history. TSV 1880 Wasserburg led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Oberhausen to just 6 points in second quarter. TSV 1880 Wasserburg forced 19 Oberhausen turnovers and outrebounded them 44-33 including 34 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Oberhausen's players. It was a great evening for American Emma Cannon (187-89, college: Cent.Florida) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 18 rebounds. Her fellow American import Melissa Jeltema (175-88, college: Oakland) helped adding 9 points and 9 rebounds. TSV 1880 Wasserburg's coach Bastian Wernthaler felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American forward Monique Reid (185-90, college: Louisville) with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and Fijian guard Valerie Nainima (168-86, college: S.Carolina) scored 11 points.
