Second Stage Round 9: Rabotnicki - Kumanovo 90-70
Date: May 8, 2014
Not a big story in a game in Skopje where 5th ranked Kumanovo 2009 (4-5) was rolled over by third ranked Rabotnicki (4-5) 90-70 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Rabotnicki. Kumanovo 2009 was better in fourth quarter 21-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rabotnicki had a 30-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. Kumanovo 2009 was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Serbian center Dusan Knezevic (207-80, agency: BeoExcell) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 15 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) for the winners and international swingman Marko Simonovski (192-89, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 17 points and 7 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was Serbian swingman Vukasin Mandic (200-82) with 18 points and 5 rebounds and Montenegrin guard Nemanja Vranjes (188-88) scored 12 points and 8 assists. Kumanovo 2009 will play on the road against ABA Strumica and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
