Paulistano held off visiting Vivo/Franca to ensure their semifinal appearance. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Vivo/Franca won third quarter 23-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Desmond Holloway (190-90, college: Co.Carolina) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Pilar Alves (200-84) contributed with 26 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Paulistano players scored in double figures. Paulistano's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Argentinian point guard Juan Pablo Figueroa (184-86, agency: Interperformances) answered with 24 points and 6 assists and the former international center Paulo Prestes (210-88) added 20 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Vivo/Franca.
