Okinawa fired past Hamamatsu in the first game of the quarterfinal series. The game without a history. Okinawa GK led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Okinawa GK outrebounded Hamamatsu Phoenix 49-30 including a 36-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. American players dominated the game. Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) nailed a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side and guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: De Paul) accounted for 15 points and 6 rebounds. Power forward Cyrus Tate (203-85, college: Iowa) came up with 17 points and guard Jermaine Dixon (191-87, college: Pittsburgh) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Hamamatsu Phoenix in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
