Toshiba cruised past Toyota Alvars for the first win in the series. The game without a history. Toshiba Thunders led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Toshiba Thunders forced 70 Toyota Alvark turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Toshiba Thunders made 20 blocks. Toyota Alvark was plagued by 76 personal fouls down the stretch. Americans were the main players on the court. Forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and guard Cedric Bozeman (198-83, college: UCLA) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side forward Philip Ricci (202-80, college: Oregon St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and forward Jeff Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
