Akita Northern Happinets surprised Iwate Big Bulls to spur ahead in the series. Iwate Big Bulls were trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 20-14 charge of Akita Happinets, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Richard Roby (198-85) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 7 rebounds. The former international point guard Yuki Togashi (170-93) contributed with 18 points and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Lawrence Blackledge (206-86, college: Marquette) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import forward Scootie Randall (198-90, college: Temple) added 20 points in the effort for Iwate Big Bulls. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
