Semi-Finals Game 1: Paulistano - S.Jose/Unimed 88-71

Paulistano overcame Sao Jose/Unimed to gain 1-0 lead in the semifinal series. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 88-71. Paulistano made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Sao Jose/Vinac turnovers. American point guard Kenny Dawkins (175-87, college: Lamar) fired 25 points and 4 assists for the winners. His fellow American import guard Desmond Holloway (190-90, college: Co.Carolina) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds. American-Dominican point guard Emmanuel Quezada (188-85, college: USF) produced 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international center Caio Silveira (211-87, agency: Interperformances) added 14 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side.
