Quarter-Finals Round 1: Poitiers - Fos Ouest 90-76

Poitiers eased past Fos Ouest in the opener. The game was mostly controlled by Poitiers. Fos Ouest was better in third quarter 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Poitiers players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American-Dominican swingman Jeff Greer (196-79, college: Rutgers) nailed 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and American-British power forward Laurence Ekperigin (201-88, college: Le Moyne) accounted for 15 points and 6 rebounds. Poitiers' coach Rudy Nelhomme used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jamaican-American Sherman Gay (201-82, college: Loyola Mary) came up with 23 points (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!) and Moroccan-Canadian Mohamed Hachad (194-83, college: Northwestern) added 13 points respectively for Fos Ouest in the defeat. Five Poitiers and four Fos Ouest players scored in double figures.
