Maccabi Haifa snatched a narrow home win over Ironi Nes-Ziona to ensure the semifinal appearance. The defending champions needed overtime to advance. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 16-11 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 8-7. American-Venezuelan Donta Smith (200-83, college: SE Illinois JC) stepped up and scored 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and American forward Brian Randle (203-85) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Maccabi Haifa's coach Danny Franco used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Tyler Honeycutt (203-90, college: UCLA) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import forward Mitchell Watt (208-89, college: Buffalo) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
