Casalpusterlengo edged Matera to even the semifinal series at 1-1. Matera trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 17-13 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 60-69 at the end of the game. They outrebounded Matera 35-21 including 20 on the defensive glass. Casalpusterlengo looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Cuban Howard Sant-Roos (200-91) scored 23 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Giampaolo Ricci (200-91) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Casalpusterlengo's coach Andrea Zanchi used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Kyle Austin (203-88, college: Cal-Riverside) responded with 20 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Antonio Iannuzzi (207-91, agency: Two Points) scored 10 points.
