Toshiba Brave Thunders gained the second consecutive victory in the NBL Finals. They upset Wakayama on the road for the second time and stepped closer to the title. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 30-17 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. International swingman Naoto Tsuji (185-89) scored 22 points and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) chipped in 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Toshiba Thunders players scored in double figures. Toshiba Thunders' coach Takuya Kita used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American power forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota, agency: SportsTalent) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 18 rebounds and the former international guard Takuya Kawamura (193-86) scored 33 points (!!!) and 6 assists.
