Semi-Finals Game 5: Paulistano - S.Jose/Unimed 81-68

Paulistano claimed the NBB Final appearance. They overcame Sao Jose/Unimed in the decisive fifth game of the semifinal series. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-68. Paulistano forced 24 Sao Jose/Vinac turnovers. The best player for the winners was American guard Desmond Holloway (190-90, college: Co.Carolina) who had a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds. Power forward Renato Carbonari (204-87) chipped in 12 points. Paulistano's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Edward Nelson (203-82, college: Connecticut) produced 18 points and 9 rebounds and the former international Dede Stefanelli (196-84) added 21 points respectively for the guests. Four Sao Jose/Vinac players scored in double figures.
