Maccabi Tel-Aviv outgunned Hapoel Eilat to take 2-1 lead in the series. It looked good early as Hapoel Eilat took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Maccabi T-A had a 25-14 second period charge getting the lead and Hapoel Eilat was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 75-97. Maccabi T-A shot 62.1 percent from the field. Maccabi T-A had a 29-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Devin Smith (196-83, college: Virginia) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Greek center Sofoklis Schortsanitis (206-85) accounted for 18 points for the winning side. Maccabi T-A's coach David Blatt felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American swingman Kevin Palmer (198-87, college: Texas A&M-CC) came up with 15 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Terrico White (196-90, college: Mississippi) added 16 points respectively for Hapoel Eilat in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
