Aalstar shocked Mons-Hainaut on the road in the decisive fifth game of the semifinal series. Therefore Aalstar joined Oostende in the championship series. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-14. But Belfius Mons-Hainaut won second period 17-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Da'Sean Butler (201-88, college: W.Virginia, agency: KMG Sports Management) stepped up and scored 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and Samoan-American power forward John Tofi (203-84, college: UTEP) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Five Okapi Aalstar players scored in double figures. American swingman Derrick Byars (201-84, college: Vanderbilt) responded with 14 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import power forward Jason Love (206-87, college: Xavier) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds.
