Tijuana overcame Guaymas to take 2-0 lead in the quarterfinal series. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Tijuana Zonkeys's pressure prevailed and they won that period 29-16 extending their advantage to 17 points. They made 25-of-33 free shots (75.8 percent) during the game, while Ostioneros de Guaymas only scored eight points from the stripe. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Tijuana Zonkeys made 8 blocks. 25 personal fouls committed by Ostioneros de Guaymas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities.
