Quarter-Finals Round 3: Caborca - Hermosillo 80-78

Caborca snatched a narrow home victory over Hermosillo to open win count in the series. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Mineros de Caborca looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Sammy Monroe (198-85, college: Newberry) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import guard Jermaine Watson (193-81, college: Boston Coll.) helped adding 21 points and 8 assists. Monroe is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. The best for the losing side was American forward Emmanuel Little (196-85, college: N.Dakota) with 24 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and forward Jorge Camacho (203-89, college: E.Kentucky) scored 20 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.
