Quarter-Finals Round 4: Culiacan - Los Mochis 76-84

Los Mochis stepped closer to the semifinal stage following the third victory over Culiacan. It looked good early as Caballeros de Culiacan took an 5-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Pioneros Los Mochis had a 26-12 second period charge getting the lead and Caballeros de Culiacan was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 76-84. Pioneros Los Mochis well out of reach of Caballeros de Culiacan shooting 203.6 percent from the field and made 26-of-19 charity shots (136.8 percent) during the game. Pioneros Los Mochis shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 177.8 percentage. It was a very good performance for American guard William Funn (188-82, college: Portland St.) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 4 assists (on 9-of-7 shooting from the field). The former international guard Carlos Toussaint (190-91) contributed with 16 points and 5 assists (on 9-of-4 shooting from the field) for the winners. Funn attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball. Four Pioneros Los Mochis players scored in double figures. American swingman Rene Rougeau (198-86, college: UNLV) replied with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 23-of-9 shooting from the field) and his fellow American import forward Leroy Davis (200-81, college: Georgia St.) added 21 points and 8 rebounds (on 16-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Caballeros de Culiacan.
