Tijuana advanced into the semifinal stage following a road win over Guaymas. Ostioneros de Guaymas were ahead by 7 points after three quarters before a 23-12 charge of Tijuana Zonkeys, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Ostioneros de Guaymas outrebounded Tijuana Zonkeys 44-32 including 18 on the offensive glass. 24 personal fouls committed by Ostioneros de Guaymas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Guard Trayvon Lathan (201-84, college: Chowan, agency: Elite Talent Exchange) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 9 rebounds. Swingman Marcus Morrison (198-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Worth to mention Lathan played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. point guard Myron Allen (182-79, college: Lee JC) answered with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and guard Shannon Shorter (193-89, college: N.Texas) added 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Ostioneros de Guaymas. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ostioneros de Guaymas' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
