Culiacan upset Los Mochis on the road to secure the semifinal birth. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 32-20. But Pioneros Los Mochis won second period 20-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Caballeros de Culiacan won last quarter 16-13. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for Benjamin Puckett (205-83, college: Clayton St., agency: I.D.S. Law) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Swingman Rene Rougeau (198-86, college: UNLV) helped adding 11 points and 11 rebounds. At the losing side CamRon Clay (203-82) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and guard William Funn (188-82, college: Portland St.) scored 14 points, 9 assists and 4 steals. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures.
