Culiacan toppled Hermosillo to gain 2-1 lead in the series. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 31-21 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Caballeros de Culiacan made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for American swingman Rene Rougeau (198-86, college: UNLV) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. His fellow American import Benjamin Puckett (205-83, college: Clayton St., agency: I.D.S. Law) helped adding 12 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American forward Emmanuel Little (196-85, college: N.Dakota) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and international point guard Steve Monreal (180-86, college: CS Monterey) scored 6 points and 9 rebounds.
