Semi-Finals Game 4: Guasave - Tijuana 57-91
Date: June 19, 2014
Tijuana upset Guasave on the road to even the semifinal series at 2-2. The game without a history. Tijuana Zonkeys led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Frayles de Guasave's players. The winners were led by American guard Trayvon Lathan (201-84, college: Chowan, agency: Elite Talent Exchange) who scored that evening 27 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import forward James Penny (198-76, college: TCU) supported him with 24 points and 8 rebounds. Lathan is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Tijuana Zonkeys players scored in double figures. Even 23 points and 8 rebounds by American center DeAngelo Riley (206-88, college: Azusa Pacific) did not help to save the game for Frayles de Guasave. Power forward Jose Farrera (205-85) added 11 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
