Guasave edged Tijuana at home court to take 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven semifinal series. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Frayles de Guasave's pressure prevailed and they won that period 20-13 extending their advantage to 13 points. They made 21-of-23 charity shots (91.3 percent) during the game. American forward John Millsap (198-82, college: UTSA) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import center DeAngelo Riley (206-88, college: Azusa Pacific) accounted for 26 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Millsap is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. International point guard Omar Quintero (182-81, college: S.Nazarene) came up with 22 points and American guard Trayvon Lathan (201-84, college: Chowan, agency: Elite Talent Exchange) added 14 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for Tijuana Zonkeys in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Tijuana Zonkeys' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
