Finals Game 3: Culiacan - Tijuana 94-66

Culiacan outgunned Tijuana at home court to take 2-1 lead in the CIBACOPA Finals. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 16-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 94-66. Caballeros de Culiacan dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Tijuana Zonkeys' 26. They outrebounded Tijuana Zonkeys 41-29 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for forward Leroy Davis (200-81, college: Georgia St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Swingman Rene Rougeau (198-86, college: UNLV) helped adding 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Caballeros de Culiacan players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward James Penny (198-76, college: TCU) with 16 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Marcus Morrison (198-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) scored 12 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
