Regular Season Round 13: Waikato P. - PJ Saints 82-83

The most exciting game of round 13 in the NBL took place in Hamilton. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 6th ranked Pistons (8-10) to second ranked Saints (12-6) 83-82 on Sunday evening. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 28-14. But Pistons won second period 21-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Brandon Bowman (206-84, college: Georgetown) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international forward BJ Anthony (198-88) contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Saints players scored in double figures. The former international forward Casey Frank (203-77, college: N.Arizona) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists and American swingman Akeem Wright (200-84, college: Kansas St.) added 26 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Pistons. Saints have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 12-6 record having just three points less than leader IMS Hawks. Pistons lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with ten games lost.
