Tijuana are the new CIBACOPA champions. They held off Culiacan in the decisive seventh game of the title series to conquer the trophy. The game without a history. Tijuana Zonkeys led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a quality performance of forward James Penny (198-76, college: TCU) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his eight free throws). Forward Robert Hornsby (201-82, college: Troy) helped adding 23 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side Benjamin Puckett (205-83, college: Clayton St., agency: I.D.S. Law) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds and swingman Rene Rougeau (198-86, college: UNLV) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
