Iran recorded the third victory at the 5th FIBA Asia Cup. They prevailed against India to occupy the second position in Group A standings. Iran will now take on Jordan in the quarterfinals. India finished fourth in the group and would take on Philippines in the playoffs. India jumped to a 20:13 lead after the first period. Iran cut the deficit at 3-point mark at the interval 26:29. The defending champions used a 22:7 run in the third quarter to pull ahead. Iran held their opponents to just 13 points in the fourth quarter and sealed the winning outcome. Hamed Haddadi scored 16 points and grabbed 9 rebounds for Iran. Arsalan Kazemi added 13 points, while Zangeneh had 7 in the victory. Amjyot Singh responded with 17 points for India. Amrit Pal Singh contributed 11 points in the defeat.
