Preliminary Round Day 4: CUBA - COSTA RICA 72-67

Cuba open Day 4 with the win over Costa Rica at the Centrobasket 2014. Cube improved to 3-0 record in Group B after a 72:67 win. Costa Rica meanwhile fell at 0-4 record. Cuba erupted with a 24-10 surge in the start of the game, while Costa Rica replied with a 22-14 run in the second period. Cuba needed a 23-20 rally in the third period to take 61:52 lead after 30 minutes of the game. Costa Rica tried hard to recover however after 15-11 run in the last stanza managed to reduce to final 5-point loss. Joan Luis Haiti top-scored for the winners with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Lisvan Valdez and Osmel Oliva netted 14 each. Kay Martinez ended up with 20 points in a loss and Carlos Quesada produced 15. Tomorrow Cuba will take on Dominican Republic as both teams already clinched first two places to the Semifinals from Group B.
